The Challenge: The New Standard for Energy Class A
Today, the construction of modern buildings is not just a matter of architecture but a response to strict legal regulations. Since 2024, every new building in Bulgaria must comply with the requirements for a “Nearly Zero-Energy Building” (NZEB)..
To achieve the mandatory Energy Class A, the law now requires minimum 55% of the energy for heating, cooling and domestic hot water to come from renewable sources (RE).
The look to the future is even more categorical: the new European directive (EPBD) obliges all new buildings to be "Zero-Emission Buildings" (ZEB) from 2030, "Zero-Emission Buildings" (ZEB)which explicitly eliminates fossil fuels on site. .
